On November 23, 1955 in an old basketball tradition there was a NBA doubleheader at the Boston Garden. In the 1st game the Philadelphia Warriors led by Paul Arizin's 23 points defeated the Syracuse Nationals by the score of 104-101. Dolph Schayes led the Nats with 29 points. In the 2nd game the New York Knicks went on to defeat the Boston Celtics in overtime 115-111. Carl Braun scored 2 field goals late in the 4th quarter to send the game into overtime. It was the 1st home loss of the season for the Celtics who dropped to a 3-3 record. Ed Macauley led the Celtics with 26 points.

Where does one find a 53 year old box score?
Also, what do G & F stand for?
I got the box scores from the New York Times. I actually have the box scores to a ton of old Knicks & Celtics games going back to the 1940's. I have the box score for the Philly game from that same day also. G is for goal or field goal, F is for free throws scored, lg is for left guard, rg is right guard, lf is left forward, and rf is right forward. As you can see box scores have really changed a lot.
